Something to Think about...

Since Addison has been born, church meetings have definitely become chaotic. Many times, I have come home after attending all of my Sunday meetings, and can barely remember what anything was about.
It was heaven when yesterday Addie actually took a nap during one of the talks in Sacrament Meeting. The speaker told a personal story that really stuck out to me. When he was 19 years old, and was serving in the US Army, some men had recognized that he was LDS and he had been embarrassed. He was different than everyone else and it showed in his daily life. The man goes on to say that later in his life, when he was in his 40's, a golfing friend was shocked to find out that he was LDS. It was obvious to him in that moment that he was not where he wanted to be in his life.

I hope that I am not one of those people. I hope that anyone who knows me will know that I love my Savior, and that I am trying to follow his example.

Because of this, I have made a personal goal to read on talk from the LDS gospel library every day, and then to share my thoughts on this blog.

Today, I learned about Sharing the Gospel from this month's ensign. My favorite quote was:

“We cannot stand on the sidelines while others, including our critics, attempt to define what the Church teaches.”
It definitely gave me something to think about.

amen to this post! I too have started to feel like I need to do a little more reading and studying. The 3 hour block at church just can't cut it especially with a baby.
