1 cup Margarine
2 1/4 cups brown sugar
pinch of salt
1 cup white corn syrup
1 can condensed milk (Eagle Brand)
1 tsp. Vanilla
Melt butter in large heavy pan. Add brown sugar and salt. Cook, stirring constantly till well mixed. Add Syrup. Mix Well. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly. Cook and stir to 155 degrees C. Remove from heat. Add vanilla. Pour in buttered pan or let cool slightly and dip apples.
I usually cool in buttered pan, then cut into bite-sized squares and freeze. Yum!
