Out of the mouth of Addie...

Addie is such a funny kid! She is at the age where she can express what she wants to say well, but still young enough to be completely honest and blunt.

Addison heard Gracelyn this morning, and climbed up in her crib to snuggle with her (something that they do all of the time). I was listening to her playing "patty-cake" and singing her songs over the monitor, when she stopped and asked, "So, what do you think about Mom and Dad? Which one do you like? Say 'mama' or 'dada'. I think daddy is the nicest."

Another embarrassing one was when we were camping in BC a few weeks ago. We were doing our hair for church in the campground's public bathroom, when a girl who was obviously having indigestion ran into a stall. After a few minutes Addie said (loudly) "EWWWW MOM! Who is that POOPIN? That is SOOOO Gross." Like I said...she is honest to a fault. And has no filter. Hopefully that will come with time.

A different day we had a conversation that went like this:
Addie: "Mom, can I have a snack please?"
Me: "Sure Addie, what do you want to eat?"
Addie: "A BIRTHDAY CUPCAKE WITH CANDLES TO BLOW OUT!!!"
Me: "Your birthday isn't until March. Probably not."
Addie: (sounding  EXTREMELY put out) "OK. I guess just a granola bar then." :(

Addison has such a cute spunky little personality. She gets more fun the older she gets. Even though there are days that are definitely challenging, I love this age. She is so sweet and innocent, but fun to hang out with. I love my little red head and wouldn't trade her for the world!
